A Hidden Gem in Odessa, DE

The Miller-Dunham House Bed & Breakfast is a dutch-colonial style home located at 207 High Street, right in the heart of charming Historic Odessa, Delaware. It sits along the Migratory Avian route, making the Inn's terrace patio and enclosed sunroom a must for wildlife watch along the three area botanical garden property. Wilmington, Newark and Dover Delaware are all a short distance drive. The Inn is within 45 - 90 minute drive to Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, DC; and to many of the famed Delaware, Maryland and New Jersey Beaches.

Our History

In 1950, the Millers (pictured below left) moved to in Odessa, DE. to the big brick house on High Street. They have a deep connection to early American history. 26 years later, the Dunhams (pictured below right) moved to Odessa and built 207 High Street for their retirement home. In order to accommodate a private mother-in-law apartment the house was built with two front doors.

Fast-forward to 2017, the second generation of Odessa Millers purchased the Dunham house and as an architect transformed 207 High Street into a four bedroom en suite Bed & Breakfast. The first floor mother-in-law apartment is now the Innkeeper residence.

The Bed & Breakfast sits on three acres of wooded and open fertile Delaware land. Especially interesting are the unusual trees, shrubs and gardens originally planted by the Dunhams.

The Millers and Dunhams have many shared life experiences including their joy of gardening, and enriching their community by donating their time and talents in many capacities.

We encourage everyone that comes to the area to experience its diverse surroundings, friendly people and the history that makes Delaware famous as the first state of this great nation.
